Jasmax Appoints Two New Wellington Principals

Jasmax is pleased to announce the appointment of architects Evelyn Axten and Alistair Luke to Principal in the Wellington Studio. Their appointments are driven by growth opportunities in the region and Jasmax’s commitment to continued success in the capital.

Jasmax CEO Sjoerd Post says their design and leadership skills will make for a powerful combination.

“The appointment of Evelyn and Alistair signals our commitment to design excellence. Evelyn has proven herself to her an excellent leader, inspiring her team, cultivating and encouraging innovation, which has demonstrably worked to reinforce Jasmax’s position within the industry. This combined with Alistair’s highly regarded design skills and the depth and breadth of his knowledge and experience will be an asset to the practice.”

With significant large-scale project experience between them, Alistair is well-known in the Wellington design community. His extensive 30-year career shows a wealth of design leadership in the civic and commercial sector. He has led projects such as the Main Terminal at Wellington Airport, the Wellington Zoo Amphitheatre and the visitor centre at Zealandia. He returns to Jasmax after time as Principal at Warren and Mahoney and Isthmus.

With an established career in commercial, residential and mixed-use buildings, Evelyn has been a senior architect with Jasmax since 2016. Currently a key part of the team delivering the NZ Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai, she has bought her energy, design and leadership skills to Jasmax projects such as 7 Waterloo Quay, Lambton Square, and Quad 5. An active member within the wider Architecture industry, Evelyn is also a committee member of the NZIA Wellington Branch.

Jasmax CEO, Sjoerd Post, says: “I am pleased to welcome Alistair and Evelyn to the Jasmax leadership team as we continue to shape a bold new future for the practice.”

Both appointments will take effect in April 2019.
