flexigroup announces partnership for largest store credit card in New Zealand

flexigroup New Zealand poised to accelerate growth trajectory with a new Farmers Mastercard partnership
• The store credit card will be integrated with the Farmers Club loyalty programme
• Leveraging the nationwide success of the Farmers Club, it is set to become the largest store credit card in New Zealand

flexigroup New Zealand is primed for further growth this year with the announcement of a new product partnership with New Zealand’s largest department store chain, Farmers.

Challenging the traditional bank offering in market, the company runs the rapidly growing Q Mastercard, along with the award winning Flight Centre Mastercard and the popular buy now pay later product, Oxipay which is relaunching as humm later this year.

With the widest range of options of any single finance company in New Zealand, flexigroup New Zealand has been growing by more than 25 percent this year as it builds on its consumer payments offering.

Delivering flexible financial solutions to more than half a million New Zealanders, the company gained 21 percent customer growth in the past six months alone, and consistently outpaces the market average growth rate of less than 5 percent.

Revolutionising the long standing Farmers Finance Card, the new Farmers Mastercard will be fully integrated with the Farmers Club rewards programme, giving customers the ability to use their card for payments nationwide and globally while earning points everyday and everywhere.

Farmers Mastercard customers will earn one point for every $10 spent on all transactions, giving Farmers Club members the opportunity to earn points everywhere they spend.

flexigroup New Zealand Chief Executive Officer, Chris Lamers says the Farmers Mastercard will be taking one of New Zealand’s most loved loyalty and reward programmes to a whole new level.

“The Farmers Club is a trusted Kiwi loyalty programme and the launch of the Farmers Mastercard will give members more opportunities to enjoy the benefits they know and love.

“Having worked with Farmers to deliver the Farmers Finance Card, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with them to deliver an innovative product that combines the full breadth of features we know the consumer of today is looking for: everyday loyalty points they can use, interest free terms, digital wallet capability, long term finance and global acceptance,” says Lamers.

The launch of Farmers Mastercard, giving customers Apple Pay capability from day one, will see Farmers complete a full revamp of its consumer payment options. This follows the introduction of a ‘buy now, pay later’ offering to its customers, with Oxipay now accepted nationwide at Farmers in-store and online.

Farmers Chief Financial Officer, Michael Power says the partnership is part of their strategy to deliver market leading consumer financial solutions to its growing customer base and to expand the reach of its popular loyalty programme.

“The retail environment in New Zealand remains highly competitive, and partnering with an innovative finance company like flexigroup allows us to deliver leading consumer finance solutions and provide the customer service experience expected by today’s consumers.”
