Optic Security Group picks up Axis Communications top award

Fortlock, part of the Optic Security Group and a leading provider of integrated security management systems, has been awarded Axis Communication’s coveted Government Partner of the Year for New Zealand.

It was the highlight of Axis Communications’ annual Oceania Axis Partner Summit 2019, in which the global surveillance camera giant hosted some of the region’s top resellers, distributors, vendor partners and end-users at the Reef View Hotel on Australia’s Hamilton Island.

“Behind this award is Optic Security Group’s significant ongoing partnerships with key government organisations,” said Group Commercial Director Andrew Moss. “To win this award in this high-security space is something we’re really proud of.”

According to Moss, the Optic Security Group ‘difference’ incorporates “providing government customers with in-depth technical and industry expertise to tackle all emerging security challenges.”

Wai King Wong, Country Manager for ANZ at Axis, said “innovation, dedication to cyber security and recognition of the strength of our local partners is what sets us apart, and with this event we get the chance to not only explore emerging trends and new technologies, but we also get the chance to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contributions of our many friends and partners in the industry.”

The gala dinner, held on the last night of the Axis partner summit, followed two full days of seminars and updates. The theme for this year’s event was Expanding Insights and Opportunities, with a focus on adding value to a facility or organisation through video data analysis, AI and emerging technologies, such as Facial Recognition and pedestrian heat mapping.

The summit’s emphasis on cyber security was reflected by the choice of Stephen Knights, Director of the Australian Information Security Association (AISA), as keynote speaker.

“Stephen talked about the convergence of information and physical security,” said Moss. “It’s a change that Optic Security Group, as a provider of converged security solutions, is at the very forefront of.”
