NZ On Air And Te Māngai Pāho Announce Co-funding For Scripted And Non-Fiction Te Reo And Te Ao Māori Content
Candidates who have benefited from the Irish National Scholarship have been announced NZ On Air – Te Māngai Paho Reo Co-Fund to create programs that will see New Zealand in the future.
The fund is worth $8m, and from August 2024 Scripted and Non-Fiction projects focusing on the Māori world will be submitted for the whole community - eventually, 30 per cent the presence of te reo Māori in the program.
According to the Acting Director of the Irish National Fund, Kelly Davis, "This fund is a result of our desire to think about and develop the identity of New Zealand through the launch of te reo Māori, of Māori culture as well. Nine Scripted and Non Scripted applications were received in this round - three Scripted applications and one Non Fiction application received funding. Three more Scripted applications received development funding, each receiving $82,000, with the knowledge that it will result in another important program for many viewers in New Zealand.
According to the CEO of Te Māngai Pāho, Larry Parr, "This funding has given life to dynamic projects that have a strong focus on the quality of the Māori language, and ultimately, a project that will have an impact on many people. people. Decisions
All funding is split 50/50 by Te Managi Paho and Radio Te Motu.
All financial commitments are based on proposals received by us, and contracts are valid when applicable. The release of the budget will be completed until the contractual obligations are met. Funds that have been tied up but not yet approved within the required time frame will be returned and re-opened in the next funding round.
