Generate Expands Investment Options With Six New Funds
Generate, one of New Zealand’s leading KiwiSaver and wealth providers, is expanding its offering with the launch of six new retail funds – three KiwiSaver funds and three managed funds –designed to give investors greater choice and more flexibility to build long-term wealth.
"Kiwis are becoming more financially savvy and are seeking investment options that support their long-term goals without the complexity of managing investments themselves. These new funds provide greater variety, strategic diversification, and access to expert fund managers," says Henry Tongue, CEO of Generate.
Expanding KiwiSaver Investment Choices
Generate is creating new KiwiSaver versions of their Australasian and Thematic Funds, previously available only as managed funds.
"Investors in our Thematic Managed Fund have been asking to allocate part of their KiwiSaver investment to this strategy,” says Henry Tongue, CEO of Generate. "Our members also told us they wanted more choice, so we listened. These new Generate KiwiSaver funds are all about giving them more options to invest in a way that suits their long-term goals.”
In addition, Generate is launching a new Global Fund for KiwiSaver investors. This high-growth, aggressive fund will invest in 40–50 equities across sectors and geographies, focusing on high-quality companies, strong growth opportunities, and undervalued equities, including well-known companies like Amazon and lesser-known companies such as Western Alliance Bancorp.
New Managed Funds for More Flexibility
Generate is also expanding its managed fund offering with three new funds, providing investors with more options to diversify their portfolios in line with their risk appetite, investment timeframe, and financial goals.
The new managed funds include:
- Global Managed Fund – A counterpart to the new Generate KiwiSaver Global Fund, offering exposure to a globally diversified portfolio of high-quality companies, growth opportunities, and undervalued stocks.
- Fixed Interest Fund – Invests in a diversified portfolio of fixed interest investments with a focus on corporate bonds. The fund is actively managed, using macroeconomic analysis to identify opportunities in interest rates, yield curves, and credit markets.
- CashPlus Fund – A low-risk fund holding only cash and cash equivalents, designed for investors seeking capital stability. It will closely mirror Generate’s KiwiSaver Defensive Fund, which has been renamed the Generate KiwiSaver CashPlus Fund.
With these new funds, Generate continues to provide New Zealanders with more opportunities to grow their savings while benefiting from expert management. To help investors make informed decisions, Generate has a nationwide team of advisers who offer no-obligation advice, ensuring Kiwis can choose the fund that best aligns with their goals, risk appetite, and investment timeframe. Research shows that 67% of New Zealanders who received financial advice believe it saved them from making mistakes, while 41% regret not seeking advice sooner¹ – highlighting the importance of receiving well-informed guidance when making investment decisions.
