Book Blooms At Botanical Garden

Remember the thrill of planting a seed as a child and seeing it grow into a plant? Huia Publishers are launching a new children’s book that captures the significance of this seemingly simple act.

The Püriri Tree/Te Püriri by first time children’s author Merito Tawhara, chronicles the events of Hemi’s life following his discovery of a püriri seed.

Where better to launch a book celebrating growth and the cycle of life than The Treehouse in the Wellington Botanical Gardens? This event is free family fun with the launch of the book, Huia’s own fabulous storyteller, Princess Pania, pot planting and food!

Princess Pania, in all her sparkly pink glory, blooming like a beautiful flower, will lead the captivated children down to the majestic püriri tree in the garden to read this gentle new children’s book.

The Treehouse has pot planting facilities where the kids will get a chance to pot up their own seed to take home. Forget hanging around the house watching videos, on Sunday the 12th of November at 2pm, The Treehouse is the place to be!
