Vodafone Warriors To Meet Wests Tigers

Auckland, New Zealand, February 27, 2001 – Vodafone Warriors Coach Daniel Anderson has named his team for the Round 3 match up against the Wests Tigers on Sunday, March 4.

After the team’s success against the Northern Eagles last weekend, Anderson is looking forward to seeing how the Vodafone Warriors’ fare against the Tigers.

“We are incredibly happy with the outcome of Sunday’s game - it’s important mentally to have those points on the board. And a win is a win, I’d be crazy not to be pleased.”

“The guys demonstrated this is a team unit with the potential to deliver some quality football. They played well as a whole and there were a number of stand-out individual performances. But our game wasn’t perfect and there is still a lot to do. The points we let in at the end were too easy for the Eagles and we’ll be looking to improve in a number of areas before we take the field on Sunday.”

“The Wests Tigers are known for being tough opposition, they’re strong footballers with an incredible competitive drive. No one in our camp will be relaxing after Sunday’s win knowing the Tigers game is so close.”

Kick-off at Campbelltown Stadium in Sydney’s West will be at 4pm local time.

The Vodafone Warriors line-up against the West Tigers will be as follows:
1. Ivan Cleary
2. Henry Faafili
