Ford Support Of New Zealand Equestrian Reaffirmed

Media Release
19 April 2001

FORD SUPPORT OF NEW ZEALAND EQUESTRIAN REAFFIRMED

Ford New Zealand has reaffirmed its support of New Zealand equestrian with the announcement that it is to sponsor two premiere Equestrian events during the 2001 season.

Ford is a principal sponsor of the Ford Explorer National One Day Championships held in the Wairarapa on Sunday 6 May, and is a key sponsor of the Bell Tea National Three Day Championships near Taupo two weeks later.

"This is the second year that we have been involved in sponsoring New Zealand equestrian events," said Ford Sponsorship Manager Christine Buckley.

"It is an exciting and developing time in New Zealand equestrian, and it is a great opportunity for Ford to establish itself as a major contributor to the sport."

"New Zealand has a proud equestrian heritage, and Kiwi riders are held in high regard throughout the world. It is imperative that new talent is developed and existing talent is supported to maintain our standing, and through sponsoring these prestigious events we will help achieve this."

Ford New Zealand provides the winner of the Ford Explorer National One Day Championships with the use of a Ford Explorer for a year, as well as contributing to vehicle displays throughout the events.
