"Once We Were Wired, Now We Are Tired"

What's funny about M.E? Two Scottish lassies whose lives are turned upside down by Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (M.E.) share their own brand of alternative medicine on International M.E. Day - May 12th. Things are not what they seem…

Self confessed "performance virgins" Anny Freitas and Moira Aberdeen share their experience of living with a chronic illness through a series of humorous yet poignant sketches. Hope is reflected in their ability and determination to see the lighter side of this debilitating condition.

This charity performance (proceeds to Wellington ME/CFS Support Group) is for anyone who has or has not suffered the effects of a chronic illness.

Anny Freitas is qualified in Physical Education and the Science and Management of Health and Fitness. She also has a B.A. in Community Education. Anny represented Scotland at international level in women's rugby, including the 1994 World Cup.

"I've never had any bother with making a pure tit o' masel." In 2000 she became seriously ill, and was diagnosed with C.F.S. This was no laughing matter. By pure fluke she met Moira and the seed was planted of combining illness and comedy with a touch of courage.

Moira Aberdeen is diversely trained and experienced in such fields as law, video production and cooking classical French food she'd never dream of eating. Moira was highly skeptical about M.E, that is, until she was laid horizontal by it herself four years ago. Believing nothing happens by chance, she sees this production as an opportunity to learn, laugh and loiter with intent.

The all-women crew includes:
Sally Rodwell Performance Consultant (Red Mole, Roadworks)
Sue Alexander Musical Director
Lisa Maule Lighting Designer (Winner Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards Lighting Designer of the Year Award 2000)
Sylvia Jasna Edge Publicity and Administration
