Skaife roars to top of TAB grid at Pukekohe
Aussie speed demon Mark Skaife has been installed as red-hot favourite at the TAB for the biggest motorsport event ever to hit New Zealand, the Boost Mobile V8 Supercars International at Pukekohe.
Thousands of people will converge on Pukekohe from tomorrow for the penultimate round of the 13-round Shell Championship Series. Qualifying races will be held tomorrow with the first race on Saturday and two races on Sunday.
Skaife, from the Holden Racing Team, is leading the series on 3,050 points. He’s $3.00 favourite to win the round. Skaife is also paying $3.75 to win the Top 10 Shootout.
As for the New Zealanders, it’s the Ford of Paul “The Rat” Radisich versus the Holden of Greg “Murph” Murphy. Radisich is joint second favourite behind Skaife to win the round, paying $6.00, while Murphy is at $7.00.
The TAB will have several other books open for the event, including Top Kiwi, winner of each race, Top 3 Finish and Winning Make Of Car. Ford is paying $2.10. Holden is at $1.65.
The TAB will also have betting facilities on-course at Pukekohe.
