Peter Jackson’s THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING has garnered an incredible 13 Oscar nominations today including Best Picture and Best Director.
This is the highest number of nominations among all films recognised in this year’s 74th Academy Awards® – an incredible achievement.
Not only has THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING been acknowledged in the two most coveted categories (Best Picture, Best Director) but has also managed to dominate the technical categories.

Box office total to date is NZD$11.7 million. Titanic currently holds the all time record for the highest grossing film in New Zealand at $12.9 million. THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING is well on track to surpass this.
