Auckland’s Newest
And Biggest Nightspot Opens
The biggest party on the
globe every night is about to land in Auckland on a
permanent basis with the opening the city’s newest
nightspot, Globe Bar, on Friday May 24.
Located on Darby Street, just off Queen Street, Globe is a world-class basement nightspot and is Auckland’s latest Export Gold party concept bar. It is home to the latest in sound systems by Martin Audio of London and a range of guest DJ’s providing the best party atmosphere possible.
At 24-metres, Globe is also Auckland’s longest bar and is stocked with local award winning beers such as Export Gold, Tui, the full Monteiths range and of course Heineken.
Globe general manager, Duncan Farbridge, says the Export Gold brand is the perfect fit for the state-of-the-art party bar.
“Export Gold is a brand that personifies ‘action’, particularly in the party and sporting scenes,” Duncan says.
“With a massive dance floor, one of the best sound systems in town, wall-mounted televisions, pool tables, and chill out areas with comfortable leather seating, you can’t fit much more ‘action’ into a bar than this,” Duncan says.
Duncan expects partygoers from the UK, Europe, Scandinavia and Down Under to be among Globe’s regular patrons.
“We have designed Globe to be the first truly international party bar experience in New Zealand,” Duncan says.
“Our main target market are travelers who are in New Zealand on the OE, Kiwi’s who are wanting a taste of an international party bar and those Kiwi’s who have returned from their OE and want to experience their trip all over again.”
“We want people to leave Globe feeling like they’ve traveled around the globe in one night,” he says.
Globe is also introducing a number of new international bar initiatives to the New Zealand party-scene when it opens.
One such initiative is an in-house party coordinator who will co-ordinate theme nights, Retro parties, the infamous Back to School Parties, and the wickedly naughty X-Rated parties, which ensure patrons will be entertained every night.
The Globe also plans rugby test trips and will screen big games from the World Cup soccer, rugby and cricket, and will showcase some of the more extreme games from around the globe.
Being associated with Auckland Central Backpackers there will a number of giveaways and promotions offering prizes such as bungy jumps, sky dives, ski packages, white water rafting and other adventure activities.
The dress code for the Globe Bar is ‘Smart Casual’ with backpackers having preferential entry at all times.
