New Zealand Post Delivers Ballet To New Zealand
New Zealand Post is supporting the Royal New Zealand Ballet's 50th anniversary by sponsoring its 2003 nationwide tour.
As part of its 50-year celebrations, the Royal New Zealand Ballet will be going on a tour in 50 towns and cities around the country in February and March next year.
Royal New Zealand Ballet General Manager Sue Paterson says the Ballet is delighted that New Zealand Post has joined them to sponsor their 50th anniversary tour.
"It's a wonderful early birthday present!" she said. "Thanks to New Zealand Post we can mount a tour which takes classical and contemporary dance works to the country's highways and byways. We look forward to combining our resources with our new sponsor, who like the Ballet, are committed to reaching New Zealanders no matter what part of the country they live in."
Ms Paterson says she was especially pleased to have secured a new arts sponsorship in an increasingly competitive market. Unable to secure a sponsor for 2001's 46-centre nationwide tour, the company had to carry costs for this massive tour on its own.
Elmar Toime, Chief Executive of New Zealand Post said the Ballet's tour is a wonderful opportunity for people throughout New Zealand to experience one of New Zealand's most highly regarded artistic treasures.
"New Zealand Post is a committed supporter of the community and the arts and we are pleased to help the Royal New Zealand Ballet present its wide range of world class dance to heartland New Zealand."
