Cristian Griggio, pitman on Luna Rossa, said today at the end of the race against OneWorld Challenge: "It's been a cold and humid day. We knew we were going to face the only team who is still left unbeaten in this first Round Robin and we wanted to be the first to win one point on them. We did our best and were able to sail close to USA 67 throughout most of the race. It was a hard fought match. At the first mark rounding we had a tough luffing session where we tried to impose a penalty on USA 67. We both took some risks, sailing into the spectator boats and photographers' fleet close to the top mark. During the third beat upwind the Americans caught a good wind shift and were able to extend their lead on us. From then on they didn't leave any doors open for us and were able to complete the final run with a comfortable lead".
