Macca's Kids And Me, By Heather

Heather Mills clearly feels she can finally be frank when it comes to talking about her relationship with new husband Paul McCartney's children. She has already described the past year as "horrendous. probably the worst of my life - worse than the year I lost my leg. We were spending 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, explaining and having to justify ourselves." So how are things with Paul's kids? "I'm the closest with Heather, the oldest, but I get on fine with all of them," Heather insists. So if everything's so rosy, why didn't cutting edge designer Stella make Heather's wedding dress? "I didn't want to put Stella under pressure," says Heather. "I don't care how much we get on, I wouldn't want to make a wedding dress for my father's new wife. So I never asked her, and she never offered."

Natalie's A Witch, Says Kelly

Veteran Brit rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his family may be the hippest TV show in America, but not everyone's a fan. When Kelly Osbourne went backstage recently to visit sexy Aussie singer Natalie Imbruglia at her show, she was snubbed apparently. An upset Kelly has told friends that the singer "was a total witch and so rude. I don't need that shit from someone like her."

Eminem's Miles Ahead

Although controversial rapper Eminem has pulled out of doing any publicity for his debut feature film 8 Mile, it's not because the 28-year-old white rap star is about to follow in the footsteps of another, now long-forgotten, white rapper - Vanilla Ice, whose 1991 debut film Cool As Ice was a total disaster. "He's just an extraordinary actor and talent," says co-star Brittany Murphy who plays his girlfriend, Alex, and who has been linked romantically with the rapper. "This is the start of a big film career." Eminem admits that making 8 Mile was tough: "It was acting boot camp. 5am till 7 or 8 at night, then pack up and just have enough time to go to sleep and then come right back." The film is loosely based on his own life story, and Eminem says: "It stripped me of all ego, it took me back to a time and place before I was Eminem or anybody," he says. "I was literally humbled to the point where I was just this dude with no name who hadn't come out of his shell yet."

Rod Limbers Up For His Musical

It seems like a lot of aging rockers have been bitten by the musical bug recently. Fresh out of rehab, Billy Joel - who says "I'm doing great" to rumours that he's still battling addiction - has just launched his new Broadway show, Movin' On, based on his songs. Sneaking into an early performance the other night was Rod Stewart, who admits that he came "to get some ideas" for his own show, Tonight's the Night. "It's in the works and I plan to do the show in London," says Rod.

It's A Dog's Life For Jennifer

Like any celeb, Flashdance star Jennifer Beals loves luxury. But she admits that she'll pass up on staying at luxury hotels "because of my dogs. Most hotels won't take them, and I can't bear to leave them alone at home when I travel, so they come with me," she explains. "I drove across country three times by myself last year. It was so great. My treasured credit card is a Super 8 Motel VIP card. I love it, because they allow dogs in the motels." Few Hollywood stars would willingly drive back and forth across America for their pet's sake, but then Beals isn't your normal Hollywood star. "I put my pets first, and actually I'm a big fan of motels. I know people will think it's weird, but it's true."

Phil Collins doubts he will tour again after suffering hearing problems. The former Genesis star say his buzzing ears will allow him only "odd concerts". In an interview with Radio Times, he also takes a swipe at Sir Paul McCartney. He says he is "mystified" as to why the ex-Beatle landed a knighthood. Collins said: "I never quite got over the idea of McCartney being knighted when George (Harrison) and Ringo (Starr) weren't. What makes him so special?" "The group was the phenomenon - I was mystified." Collins was struck with hearing problems two years ago which have left him half-deaf in one ear. It looks to have put paid to plans for his Big Band to tour every couple of years. "I can sing, write and do the odd concert," he said. "Whoever is up there is saying 'You don't need to tour for ever, dragging your family around the world. "I don't want to sit and panic and wonder what I'll do. Another door has already opened with film soundtracks," added Collins, who wrote the music for Disney's Tarzan. As reported on Ananova http://www.ananova.com/entertainment/story/sm_697662.html?menu=

Elton John, who is no strange to a good bitch, himself suffered an embarrassing incident recently. The 55-year-old singer attended the Carousel of Hope ball at the very well-heeled Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hill and was required, like everyone else, to go through the metal detectors demanded by security. Throwing a bit of a strop, Elton refused and was allowed to go straight in without going through the detectors. The reason? The metal detectors would be set off by his pace maker - something Elton does not like to draw attention to. He would not have been the only one to have set the alarm off, had he gone through. Tom Selleck was found to have a gun on him. 'I carry a piece. This has become a habit,' the Magnum P.I. actor casually explained. Singer Kylie Minogue has her knickers in a twist over the sale of memorabilia in her name at two Labor Party functions in NSW. After reading a report in The Sun-Herald last week that described the sale of her underwear - and signed photographs - to eager bidders at Labor Party lunches, Minogue lashed out. But yesterday the two MPs and the autograph business at the centre of the storm hit back, denying any wrongdoing. Minogue was reading The Sun-Herald at Singapore airport when she learned that two fans had spent more than $7,000 in a bid to own a piece of her underwear collection and signed photographs. Successful bidders Kathryn Macryannis, of Surry Hills, and Col Waller, of Berry, bought the framed items at Labor Party fundraising lunches held by MPs Paul Gibson and Matt Brown. In a letter to The Sun-Herald, Minogue wrote: "I was not aware of the existence of these framed items, where the photographs came from, the auctions, the MPs, where my supposed 'signature' came from, or most importantly where the fuAs reported in the Sun-Herald http://smh.com.au/articles/2002/10/27/1035504927449.html

Diamonds truly are Jennifer Aniston's best "Friends." This is a first look at the 33-year-old Emmy Award-winning actress in a new ad campaign for a pricey Italian jewelry company she and husband Brad Pitt once sued. Aniston and Pitt resolved their $50 million ring-rage lawsuit against Silvia Damiani in January over claims Damiani's company had made cheap knockoffs of their wedding bands and made them unwilling participants in one of her Internet advertising campaigns. The Hollywood couple - who argued that they had agreed only to acknowledge Damiani's work in a press release - claim the jeweler was supposed to keep the 18-karat white-gold rings designed by Pitt a secret and break the mold. Pitt, hunky star of such blockbusters as "Ocean's Eleven," "Seven" and "Fight Club," and Aniston, who plays Rachel Green on the hit show "Friends," were married in Malibu in July 2000. A Beautiful Mind deserves a beautiful ring ... and now Jennifer Connelly's got one! She and her fiance, actor Paul Bettany, whom she met on the set of the blockbuster flick, splashed out $50,000 on his-and-her gold wedding bands at the Hollywood jeweler to the stars, Neil Lane. Paul's is a plain gold band and Jennifer's is a bit jazzier, with dazzling diamonds. Now all that's left is their I Do's. How's this for a kicker! Soccer fan Antonio Banderas, who could have been a professional player in his native Spain, held up filming of his new political thriller, Imagining Argentina, because he wanted to watch the Spanish team play on TV. Let's just say he didn't score any points with the director, who was eager to meet his deadline. The delay wound up costing the already big-budget flick even more moolah! Somebody give Toni Braxton a saucer of milk. Besides being good for her - she's four months pregnant with her second child - she's earned it for her catty remarks about Jennifer Lopez. "She's a very good actress, but she's new to the singing world," Braxton, 34, says in December's Vibe. Braxton resents fashionistas who've suggested that she donned a shockingly revealing Richard Tyler gown at the 2001 Grammys to outdo the now-infamous green Versace J.Lo wore the year before. "Nothing against her, but to insinuate that I'm trying to be like her? I'm sorry. ... This is not my first Grammy. I have six." Here, kitty, kitty. Braxton has a fifth album, "More Than A Woman," due out Nov. 19. And yet, for all her awards, the star of "Beauty and the Beast" admits, "My career doesn't really make me happy anymore." Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones won't be moving into a drafty old Welsh castle. Denying reports that they're buying a 300-year-old fortress (which has also served as a mental asylum), their rep says the couple was quite busy last week fixing up their new $4.5 million house in Bermuda. Their rep also scoffs at talk that the expectant parents know their unborn child is a girl and plan to name it Zeta, after Catherine's grandmother ... Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lopez have not - repeat not - ordered up babies. Published reports claimed that adoption was on the minds of Roberts and hubby Danny Moder, as well as Lopez and boyfriend Ben Affleck. Reps for all parties call the stories rubbish. "Baywatch" TV movie producers foamed like mad dogs when Pamela Anderson missed her plane to Hawaii - and they had to pony up mega-buck$$ for a chartered jet to get her there for the first day of filming! When she arrived at Turtle Bay Resort, Diva Doll's first call was to complain that there were no flowers in her suite! Quirky comedy director Woody Allen dismissed himself as a failed artist on Saturday and described American cinema as a sink-hole of mindless entertainment where everyone was obsessed with money. "If I had to describe myself in three words, I would say: A Failed Artist," a deadpan Allen told reporters in Rome, where he is promoting his latest film "Hollywood Ending." "I don't know how to act, I mean, I'm not an actor like Dustin Hoffman is an actor or Jack Nicholson is an actor, and I don't have enough talent to be a jazz musician. I'm very, very mediocre. In fact, I'm less than mediocre." While characteristically self-deprecating, Allen was also full of criticism for U.S. films, and for Hollywood in particular, a place he had appeared to court in recent months, even making a first-ever appearance at the Oscars in March. "I've always had a very critical attitude to Hollywood. Essentially, it's a place where people spend a huge amount of money and yet make very few, if any, decent films," he said.
