Sky Television Exposes The Truth About Racing

SKY Digital’s BBC World (channel 55) has secured the rights to show one of the most controversial documentaries of all time, The Corruption of Racing, PREMIERING Saturday, November 9 at 9:10pm.

After eight months of extensive investigation by Panorama, the BBC’s flagship current affairs programme fought two High Court actions instigated by the British Horse racing governing body Jockey Club to legally broadcast the documentary.

Head of the Jockey Club’s Security Department for nine years, Roger Buffham exposes exclusively to Panorama and the world the secretive world of corruption that exists within this billion-dollar industry.

Many of Buffham’s reports involve the criminal activities of the notorious Brian Wright, head of the most successful cocaine smuggling gang ever to have targeted Britain.

Buffham reveals that for years Wright had a score of top jockeys on his payroll, some of who were fixing races for him, including former champion amateur jockey, Dermot Browne.

In his first open interview, Browne tells Panorama how he and other jockeys were offered cash, cocaine and prostitutes to fix races.

Confronted in this programme are some of the most high profile figures in international racing; former Gold Cup winning jockey Graham Bradley, and current champion jockey Kieran Fallon.
