A national mental health trust is expected to receive thousands of dollars in proceeds from a major charity painting exhibition and auction in Auckland on December 3.
Mind Matters Trust will be the beneficiary of the Fishers Fine Arts Christmas charity exhibition at their Auckland gallery in Parnell, Auckland.
Organiser Simon Fisher said both the gallery and artists’ were donating proceeds from the event to Mind Matters, which cares for mentally ill teenagers and young people.
``They are looking to gather enough funds to build a large house where up to seven families can stay,’’ Mr Fisher said.
``This annual Christmas exhibition will really help that cause,’’ he said. Tim Wilson, whose paintings have reached up to $100,000, Geoff Williams, Lex Benson-Cooper and Megan-Lee Richards are among the artists.
About 100 painting will be on show at the exhibition.
