"NOT a Silent Night" nearly sold out!

"NOT a Silent Night" nearly sold out!

The Auckland Philharmonia's two "Twinings NOT a Silent Night" concerts in December are close to being sold out - within just two weeks of tickets going on sale!

"Twinings NOT a Silent Night" is a festive concert combining orchestral and vocal works, dance and readings. Joining the Auckland Philharmonia and conductor Marc Taddei are the Chapman Tripp Opera Chorus, singers from the Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artists programme (courtesy of the NBR New Zealand Opera), Simon Prast from Auckland Theatre Company and dancers from Auckland Dance Company.

The Auckland Philharmonia first performed "Twinings NOT a Silent Night" in 2000. "When it was created," Orchestra Manager John Ure says, "the objective was to present a Christmas concert that was innovative, just a little bit different, and included members of our fellow arts organisations. It's a very accessible concert that appeals to a wide audience - and it's been a huge success from the outset."

Celebrate the festive season with "Twinings NOT a Silent Night" on Friday 13 December (7.30pm) and Sunday 15 December (4pm) at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell.

Adult tickets from $38. Bookings phone 0800-PHILHARMONIA (0800-744 542).

The Auckland Philharmonia gratefully acknowledges Twinings of London for its sponsorship of these concerts
