A play about the insanity of office politics, performed in an office.

Wellington Fringe audiences will have the chance to see the inside of someone else's office with the Fringe Play 'Potted'.

"The obvious place to perform a play about how futile it is to work in an office, is in an office space in Wellington," says Fringe Festival 2003 play director Sam Fisher.

"Anyone who has worked in an office will recognise the idiot marketing manager, the slacker the hardworking unappreciated receptionist and that familiar unpleasant office wanker that Potted presents".

"We were very fortunate to have Capital Language Academy come to the party and let us use their office classrooms for the show and so the idea of performing the play in a high rise building is possible.

"People may well draw the conclusion that we have copied the TV Programme the office, but that is not the case."

The production team don't think that there'll be any problem getting audiences in the building, "well office workers seem to have relatively little problem getting to work each day and that's not nearly as much fun as this play will be," said Sam Fisher.

The play starts with the departure of the marketing manager and the office intrigue around his replacement. who then arrives and upsets everything in her ruthless drive to efficiency.

"Potted is an hour and 20 minutes in length and is the third offering from the Oily Rag Theatre to the Fringe Festival and follows the very successful "Interviews and other lies", performed last year at Capital E.
