Top UK Talent At NZ Music Seminar

World-class music industry leaders from the United Kingdom arrive in New Zealand for an intensive three-day seminar this month (Feb).

Resonate 2003 - to be held from February 26 to 28 at The EDGE® in Auckland - is presented by the British Council New Zealand in association with Mai FM 88.6, NZ Music Industry Commission and NZ On Air.

Some of the United Kingdom's best creative talent will share their knowledge and expertise with peers, directing a programme of seminars, public discussions and debates.

Guests include the chief executive of MTV Europe and ex-pat Kiwi, Brent Hansen, top talent manager Stephen Budd, UK music video producer Pete Chambers, esteemed recording engineer Greg Haver, and Liz Kessler, a video commissioner for Island Universal UK.

Jamie Catto and Duncan Bridgeman of 1 Giant Leap fame will join the group to provide another perspective.

Mai FM programme director Manu Taylor says the programme is designed to educate, enlighten and discuss the differences between creative disciplines in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

"Resonate 2003 provides a programme that embraces both artistic excellence and unparalleled professional development for the New Zealand music industry," Manu says.

"It is an exciting, fresh series of discussions and debates for the professional and punter alike. With a bevy of some of Britain's finest minds, this is an event not to be missed."

Over the three days, a broad range of topics will be covered including the recording process, song writing, performance skills, music video production and broadcast media skills, and artist management.

Ticket prices are $30 per session or $15 concession. A three-day pass is also available.

The website – http://www.resonate.org.nz - will include programme updates and news.
