Willie Jackson talks Maaori television with Minister of Maaori Affairs, Parekura Horomia. The Maaori Television Service has finally got its chiefs in place. Wayne Walden who was previously the interim CEO after the dumping of disgraced John Davey is now Chairman of the MTS Board, a position relinquished by the new CEO Derek Fox.

Willie also talks with Hineani Melbourne, Managing Director of Te Haeata Productions, creators of the ground-breaking animation series MOKO TOA. The production company has just completed a reality series for the Maaori Television Service called Te Iwi Kohatu. But in a shock announcement last week Te Haeata Productions has decided no more Maaori Programmes because not only does it not pay but you can go broke as well.

Besieged Leader of the National Party Bill English talks to Willie about his party's current statements on issues affecting Maaori, as well as the much publicised rumours about the challenge for his leadership from within his own caucus.

Willie talks with List ACT MP and it's Spokesman on Maaori Affairs and Treaty Issues, Stephen Franks. Last week Mr. Franks slammed the law change that allows the Chairman of the Waitangi Tribunal to pull off or replace any Tribunal member hearing a case.

Dale Husband spoke with Greens Party List MP and Spokeswoman Maaori Affairs Metiria Turei about Euthanasia and he caught up with well known Maaori entertainer/actor Mabel Wharekura Burt who is launching her latest Maaori CD this Saturday in Tauranga

In the Arts feature Willie catches up with Jim Moriarty. Jim has a roopu currently performing at the Ignite03 Arts Festival in Auckland's Aotea Centre. The performance called Whakapapa Tamaki is a culmination of a 10 week residency at Tapu Te Ranga Marae, Porirua, which involved working with 85 young people aged between 10 and 18.

There's the weekly wrap on politics with Journalist Duncan Garner and of course Willie talks sport with Bailey Mackey.

Paakiwaha, the Maaori Current Events programme in English on Urban Maaori Radio, Radio Waatea 603 AM and broadcast live to the Maaori radio network via punganet every Monday morning from 10am to mid-day, then repeated Monday afternoons from 1pm to 3pm and 4pm to 6pm, and again on Tuesday afternoons from 1pm to 3pm.
