Transmit Live Kicks In 9th May 03 at http://www.transmit.co.nz

Typing coded messages, signals to send Messages to rearrange and comprehend Transmit’s the word. PASS IT ON.THE END

Live transmission kicks in on 9 May 2003 for http://www.transmit.co.nz, an interactive digital showcase, navigating creative Aotearoa NZ content in a connected global society.

The Transmit website is led by Sarah Hunter (Creative Director, still and moving image maker) in collaboration with Oktobor Interactive (New Media Wizards) and DJ MU (Music Producer).

Transmit is saturated in urban goodness, mixing rich images, interactive toys and conscious urban Pacific sounds and rhymes to encourage users to actively play with, challenge, contribute to, and extend the notion of our South Pacific identity.

During May, two specially designed mobile Transmit booths will visit selected inner city locations around Wellington to make the website physically accessible and to activate new audiences.

May is also NZ Music Month and two MU tracks produced for Transmit, A Solo Adventurer, featuring MC Antsman and an instrumental version, Island Time, will be released as MP3 files on the Transmit website and as single releases on radio.

MU is the heavyweight beatmaster of the dynamic band, Fat Freddy's Drop and co-founder of independent record label, The Drop.

Oktobor Interactive specialize in design, animation and interactive for cd-rom, dvds, kiosks and the web.
