Epson New Zealand Professional Photographer Of The Year Announced
The country¹s most prestigious photography awards were announced last night at a black tie dinner in Auckland.
Tony Carter f rom New Plymouth was named The Epson Photographer of the Year after four gruelling days of judging by leading professionals from New Zealand and across the Tasman.
The Epsom Photographer of the Year is THE event for the industry. The work being judged represents current work of the country¹s top professionals More than 1500 images were judged this year, over twelve categories. Two other major awards were also made, the Geddes Champion Print Award and the AIPA Brian Brake Memorial Award.
A touring print exhibition of the top work will begin at Auckland's Aotea Centre from June 26 to July 8 and will tour the country for the next twelve months. For a permanent record of the top images, a book of the top 200 images will be published later in the year. This publication, has become the Œbible¹ of the advertising and design industry. It will provide a developing record of the industry in New Zealand as well as enduring evidence that New Zealand¹s leading photographers are among the finest in the world.
