Rael Says Jazz Festival Adopts Gestapo Tactics
The Management Of The Montreux Jazz Festival And The Police Are Accomplices Of Persecution Against A Religious Minority Of Jewish Obedience
Following the blatantly intolerant article published July 7th, 2003, by a journalist from the “LE MATIN” newspaper, Mr. Sébastien Jost, the Montreux police and the Jazz festival management have adopted a repressive policy against the raelians and committed acts that are reminiscent of the Gestapo. They searched them as thieves, treated them as drug dealers, robbed them from their fundamental rights of expression through physical force, and seized their religious literature (flyers, books and logos). In addition, Allan Tschopp,
leader of the Swiss Raelian Movement, has been physically assaulted, his religious symbol yanked from around his neck, and his logo www.rael.org ripped from his back, before finally being thrown to jail.
During his incarceration, the medical assistance that he requested following the violent treatments that he was subjected to was denied. This anti-Semitic “witch-hunt” had already begun with Montreux local authorities’ refusal to rent a conference room for the Raelian Movement’s International convention, which is in full contradiction with Swiss constitutional rights.
How can Montreux’s authorities and police give themselves the right to mock the federal constitution and treat members of religious minorities as criminals? Raelians intend to react by filing a lawsuit against the federal authorities and documenting the physical injuries inflicted to
Allan Tschopp during his unjustified incarceration. In addition, demonstration in front of Swiss Embassies as well as a boycott of Swiss products will soon take place worldwide.
