Just Add Water presents a powerful story about fate, love, and destiny. Based on Henry Purcell¹s opera Dido and Aeneas, DnA is an opera with a difference it is an opera without singing.
Created especially for the STAB 2003 season, Purcell¹s music and the emotional entanglements of Dido and Aeneas are expressed through a synthesis of sound, movement and gesture, rather than with words and song.
Brewing together a potent mix of influences, including Robert Le Page, Star Trek, 1950¹s costume and kitchen design, Just Add Water creates the emotional impact of the story and themes of this classic opera.
Things are not always what they seemŠ this performance is a work of epic proportions, played out on a miniature scale.
Just Add Water comprises of
several Wellington artists including Miranda Manasiadis,
Nigel Collins, Jacqueline Coats, Ludmila Zelenda, Sebastian
Morgan-Lynch, Justin Gregory and Marianne Taylor.
