Speight's Perfect Woman Found
Jodie Ruddenklau has been named as the 2003 New Zealand's Speight's Perfect Woman, after a competition down at the Bullock Bar in Wanaka over Labour Day weekend.
Jodie, 22, from Omarama, out shot, out sheared and out jet boated her competitors, to give her a 16 point lead away from the rest of the pack by the end of the final day.
"It was heaps of fun," said Jodie, "I couldn't believe I got through to the second day, let alone actually winning it. It's an awesome feeling. I'll be celebrating with some Speight's tonight."
Jodie, who works at Berwen sheep station, only entered a couple of days before entries closed and was entered by a friend, who thought she should have a go at this year's competition.
When asked about whether she had received any recognition from her fellow colleagues at the station she said, "Yes, they were there and supporting me and really happy when I won. I have also received lots of recognition from strangers. I've done lots of radio interviews which has been great, although I can't listen to any of them because we can only pick up one radio station here."
Jodie wins $1000 cash, Norsewear clothing, a Nordic Helicopter ride and tickets to the Speight's box at Eden Park, not to mention the chance to call herself the Speight's Perfect Woman!
