The Fringe NZ Festival 04: Revelation runs from 14 February – 14 March.

Fancy yourself behind the decks spinning the discs at the hot new club? The Fringe NZ Festival, in association with Pro DJ is presenting a 'how to' session for would be groove jockeys.

Fringe Freestyle will take place at Shed 11 on Wellington's waterfront from 12 noon on Sunday February 15.

This free event will be hosted by Pro DJ's MC Juse1 and will feature DJ Kerb, DJ Sean, DJ Jules, The Wanderers and The Forecast DJs spinning their wares. Pro DJ Network recently presented the sold out Scribe event in Wellington.

The workshop is designed to bridge the gap between Wellington's leading DJs and new talent. It will look at all aspects of the world of DJing, from how to get started, what gear you need, to where to get it and what to do with it.

Fringe Freestyle is a relaxed and informal event and interested punters will be encouraged to approach the featured DJs directly for advice and chat to them as they circulate in the crowd after their set.

Different DJ techniques and styles will be showcased and the Djs will be showing off their latest and greatest moves. All comers are welcome to join the party and explore ways to unleash the beat. Aspiring DJs from all walks of life are expected to come along to meet their muso mentors, from teenagers dreaming of a life on Ibiza, to hobbyists or those looking to kick start a career. Whether you're into the freshest and coolest beats, or are keener on dusting off your Best of Disco LP, Fringe Freestyle will have the DJ for you.
