Bats Theatre: Garagin Way;

In its final week, Garagin Way is playing at Bats Theatre in Wellington. This is the NZ premiere of Gregory Burke's award-winning, shocking first play about a human heist gone horribly wrong. Directed by Jean Betts (The Collective, Fold, The Misandrist, Ophelia Thinks Harder) featuring Simon Vincent (2003 Chapman Tripp Most Promising Male Newcomer), Craig Hall (The Strip, Red Fish Blue Fish), Kevin Keys (Fact and Fable) and Malcolm Murray (Strata, Knot A Problem, Shortland Street). This is a show not to be missed.

Ladyboy & Charlotte Yates Band in a Double Bill;

A rare opportunity to see these two songwriters and their respective bands in action at the Mayfair Cafe/Bar in Upper Hutt on 30 April. Charlotte Yates Band will perform tracks from her most recent album, plainsong, including The Ruins of Love, Joan of Arc and Long Winter, currently in video production. Joining Charlotte will be premier Wellington musicians, bass man Tim Robertson and ex-Trinity Roots drummer, Darren Mathiassen, both of whom have recorded and performed extensively with Charlotte. Ladyboy featuring Tyree Robertson will be performing songs from their upcoming album now in production at Breaker Bay Studio, due for release late 2004. Dunedin Public Art Gallery: Frances Hodgkins - A Daughter of Dunedin;

A Daughter of Dunedin is the second exhibition in the new gallery permanently devoted to the works of one of New Zealand's most highly regarded artists, Frances Hodgkins. Curated by Robyn Notman, it offers the viewer an insight into the artist's life and work. Opening this Thursday, 29 April, until 31 October at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.

3rd Latin American Film Festival;

With the success from previous years of the first and second editions, held in Wellington and Auckland, the 2004 Festival has been extended to Dunedin and Christchurch. In the programme are six feature films from five Latin American countries: Destiny Has No Favourites (Peru); Bedtime Fairytales for Crocodiles (Mexico); A Paradise Under the Stars (Cuba); The Trespasser (Brazil); The Inheritance (Brazil) and Son of the Bride (Argentina). The 3rd Latin American Film Festival will be finishing in Wellington at the Paramount Theatre on Wednesday 28 April.
