Unseen Worlds – New Dimensions
2 July – 3 October
The art of science is unveiled in this exhibition of magnified images from our usually unseen world.
Unseen Worlds explores the shared ground between art and science by examining the world at a microscopic level. It is designed to give New Zealanders an opportunity to see some of the amazing images scientists create in the course of their everyday work.

Jane Ussher: Portraits of Our Time
5 July – 3 September
An exhibition of stunning portraits from Listener photographer, Jane Ussher, featuring some of our most famous local faces.
Included in the exhibition are stunning large-scale images of Sir Edmund Hillary, Janet Frame, Hone Tuwhare, Helen Clark, Dr Allen Curnow, David Lange, Sir Robert Muldoon, Sir Toss Woollaston, Ces Blazey, Russell Crowe, Paul Holmes, Bic Runga, Dave Dobbyn and Colin Meads.

Peter Stichbury: Domestic potter – a survey of a pioneer New Zealand studio potter
28 May – 8 August
An exhibition to mark potter Peter Stichbury’s 80th birthday.
The exhibition features work from the major periods in his career from the early days of learning and teaching in Auckland, to his travel to Britain and Higeria to work under the two greats of the British studio pottery movement, Bernard Leach and Michael Cardew, and finally to his consolidation as a domestic potter in Auckland.

Titian Studio Ware – the Ceramic Art of Cameron Brown

An exhibition presenting a collection of Titian’s slip-cast ceramics from the 1950s and ‘60s, and exploring the themes of pop ceramics, kiwiana kitsch and New Zealand’s neo-classical influences.

evening of late Eighteenth Century classical music for Piano
and Cello... played on period instruments.
Bringing
together the talents of the well-known local cellist Polly
Sussex, with David Ward, a pianist of international repute
and Professor of Music from the Royal College of
Music.
Programme includes Mozart, Beethoven, Wolfl, and Liebman.

through our microscopes. You can also take part in our
Fossil Discovery workshops and our larger than life trail
around the Museum!
Take part in our special workshops surrounding the exhibition John Edgar: Calculus. Take a look at the stones in this unique exhibition, and the stones we have in our permanent collections. With help from the exhibition artist, John Edgar.

pop into the Discovery Centres every day of the holidays.
