The Wiggles are the leaders of children’s music, conquering the United States with their bright, appealing and highly entertainment music. Aussie children have adored them for over a decade and New Zealand’s little ones are no different to the rest of the children around the world when it comes to THE WIGGLES.
For the first time in over two years, The Wiggles are set to return to New Zealand for concert dates in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland in September this year.
With the release of a brand new album COLD SPAGHETTI WESTERN, they have turned the cowboy legend on its head exploring everything from the life on the range and western music to the subsistence fare of all good cowboys…..pasta! The album takes children on a rollicking, joyful ride through the Old West accompanied by Cowboys Greg, Jeff, Anthony and Murray.
Along with The Wiggles, also coming to New Zealand are all their friends, Captain Feathersword, Dorothy The Dinosaur, Henry The Octopus, Wags The Dog, the Wiggly Red Coat Dancers, elephants, tigers and eagles….and watch out for the giant blow up Jeff balloon.
The Wiggles will perform some new songs plus the old favourites such as Can You Point Your Fingers and Do The Twist, Wiggly Party, Play Your Guitar with Murray, Fruit Salad, Hot Potato and many more.
It’s not surprising that The Wiggles continue to carve a swathe through the United States as the hottest children’s entertainers around. They now tour America three times a year, Last year they performed at 12 Madison Square Garden Shows where scalpers were reportedly asking $US700 a ticket for the sold out shows. They appeared for the third time at the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and this year sold out 6 shows at the Los Angeles Universal Amphitheatre.
In New York November 2 was declared Wiggles Day in recognition of The Wiggles support for victims of the September 11 attacks and for the fire fighters who were the city’s heroes that day.
Back on the home front, it was reported that The Wiggles were the second highest earning entertainers in Australia. But these four extraordinary entertainers remain focused on what they love most – making children happy!
Having now sold over 14 million videos/dvds worldwide, The Wiggles were last year presented with the ARIA AWARD for “Outstanding Achievement” for their international success.
The Wiggles are very excited to be returning to New Zealand.
But be quick – they will sell like…………hot potatoes!!
