LOMU TRANSPLANT
Jonah Lomu remains in a stable condition following a live donor kidney transplant at Auckland City Hospital earlier this week.
Jonah’s clinicians advise that he has made an excellent recovery from surgery and is progressing exceptionally well.
However, he has been through major surgery and requires rest. He is expected to improve steadily over the next few weeks
Clinicians commented that renal transplantation is a complex procedure requiring ongoing monitoring and treatment and it is likely to be three months before any comment can be made about the success of the operation long-term.
Neither Jonah nor his wife, Fiona, will be making any public comment as Jonah recovers.
