the Subscription Season with a Mozart overture then takes a
leap in time to Bartok and his near classical final piano
concerto written in America, before ending the concert with
Liszt’s brilliant and characteristic work based on Goethe’s
poem.

work by Ross Harris, followed by Ravel’s chic and jazzy
piano concerto performed by Valentina Lisitsa on her debut
tour. Then there’s one of Elgar’s greatest works with his
trademark sighing melodies and rich orchestration to end the
2004 Subscription Season.
