First Instalment From Circles + Bumps Has
Landed
Having sworn never to produce another poetry book, Kelvin Hayes's third, Circles and Bumps is out on September 6 through equivocal.
The 24 poem book born out of a visit to Heathrow details memory and experience of flying and airports, hence the titles LHR (London Heathrow), LAX (Los Angeles), WLG (Wellington) etc.
Full running order and the Cover Image are online at
http://www.kelvinhayes.com/shop.html and first instalment AKL (Auckland) is available exclusively online at http://www.kelvinhayes.com/read.html
During a manic rush of strategic marketing, some of the poems were sent to the airports in question, however for those concerned it seems receiving a specially written poem is a level of random weirdness that proved all too baffling for them.
It's been a busy old time for Kelvin Hayes, aside this new book he's promoted his 1995 body of visual art The Hopper Season, reissues of his first two books; A Lyrical Oasis and Notate, produced and promoted the RE:COVERED history of New Zealand music cover art and has had time to design forthcoming website/exhibitions on the group Japan plus review Keane and Strawpeople albums!
Circles and Bumps is his 5th book in as many years. A second poem from it will be added online in September.
