Shapeshifter *Live*
Shapeshifter *Live*
Fresh from tearing up Australia in
a Riddim Wise style, Shapeshifter return to their homeland
to present a quality show of high energy live dancefloor
bizniz. The group celebrate their b.net NZ music award
nominations, the release of the 'When I Return' video, and
the return of P.Diggs from his European performances.
Shapeshifter's live sound is a journey into blazing
jungle and drum'n'bass, washed with soulful grooves, hip hop
and tuff dancehall. Using live, unsequenced instrumentation,
they create a tight, progressive sound that has earned them
a reputation as the 'most fearsome exponents of live d'n'b
this side of the equator'.
Don't miss the group that has proven themselves time and time again to be on the cutting edge of original live performance.
“Shapeshifter have the
….well deserved reputation as the most fearsome live
exponents
of drum’n’bass this side of the equator” Jim
Pinckney, NZ Listener (Apr 3-9 2004).

From its humble beginnings on late night Saturday radio in 1994 to its primetime Friday night slot now, Future Funk has ruled the capitals airwaves for 10 years and it is time for a celebration of epic proportions. With a list of regulars that reads like a who’s who of drum and bass pioneers in Welly, the Future Funk show has always prided itself on providing its listeners with the freshest and best drum and bass possible.
Undoubtedly New Zealand’s most successful Drum and Bass export the Concord Dawn boys have paved the way for many local producers with their success on the international scene. Regularly packing out clubs with their legendary tours throughout NZ as well as taking their sound across the globe on a frequent basis, there are not many places left that have not been touched by the Concord sound. Cementing themselves as a household name for any self respecting DnB head throughout the world. Their 3 album releases prove there unwavering popularity with their last one ‘Uprising’ reaching gold status in NZ.
Wellington duo, The Upbeats, have achieved what many other producers can only dream of with their debut 12" release about to drop on the BC Presents label run by Bad Company. With the tracks gaining support from heads in the scene including Andy C, Bailey, BC UK, Pendulum, Friction, Dom & Teebee. Following up from this release are 12"s scheduled for Subtronix, Hostile, Habit and BC UK's new side label Vengeance!!! Join the boys as they celebrate their BC presents release due late September and for their last Wellington gig before they take off on tour to smash Australian dancefloors.
Bass Frontiers original residents and Wellyz Most Dangerous Ddog and Sal will be running there trademark back2back styles. After years of playing together they have developed a style that compliments each other perfectly. Whether they are spinning in the cruisey lounge environment of their regular Thursday night residency at Phoenix or playing at Welly's biggest Drum and Bass events they can be guaranteed to get any dancefloor moving with their full spectrum selection and tight mixing.
They will be joined by B.lo another Bass Frontiers original and long serving host of Future Funk. His residencies at Good Luck and The Matterhorn ensure a wide appreciation for all types of music. His drum and bass sets are no exception deeply musical and expertly blended, leaving the crowd always guessing what they are going to hear next.
