Public access to Air New Zealand Fashion Week.

16 September 2004

Public access to Air New Zealand Fashion Week.

Nightly highlights packages of Air New Zealand Fashion Week will screen on C4, the music channel, with live broadcasts from the collections also planned for TV3's Nightline as organisers move to bring the highly popular trade shows closer to the public.

Since debuting just four years ago, Air New Zealand Fashion Week has become the premier event on New Zealand's fashion calendar and at the top of many fashionistas' agendas from New York to New Plymouth.

While the event is, officially the domain of fashion buyers, media and guests of the designers

it has attracted huge public interest spurring organisers to look for ways to satisfy the public's appetite for the latest from the catwalk for Autumn/Winter 2005.

The television connection is a great coup, providing a half hour highlights show on C4 at 7pm each night followed by a second show at 10.30pm with the day's other shows.

TV3's Nightline will broadcast live from the event on Thursday 21 October, featuring a special Best of Show especially for a television audience but open to the public via sales at Ticketek.

Air New Zealand Fashion Week Managing Director, Pieter Stewart is excited about the new television connection.

"While our primary focus is on creating the best possible facility to generate sales and profile for our designers, it's an incredible bonus to think the public, who have been so supportive and excited about the event, can share the experience and truly see the best of the collections."
