Lace Up For Charity

Lace Up For Charity

As part of Nike’s ‘You’re The Run That I Want’ 10K event to be held in Auckland on Sunday 3 October, yellow shoelaces will be sold to raise money for Breath4CF which helps people affected with Cystic Fibrosis.

All profits made from the sale of the $2 yellow ‘You’re The Run That I Want’ shoe laces will be donated directly to Breath4CF to help people with CF live longer and actively participate in life enhancing physical activity.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is New Zealand’s most common life threatening genetic condition; it primarily affects the lungs, leading to progressive and irreversible lung damage from which, to date, there is no cure. Sadly CF significantly shortens the life of a person born with it, however people with CF can help preserve their own quality of life, lung function and longevity by physical exercise from an early age.

Breath4CF provides financial assistance to people with CF towards the cost of sporting equipment, gym memberships, entry fees, sports lessons and also assists towards any physical activity that produces a health benefit.

‘You’re The Run That I Want’ is also the run that they need as Nike will donate five dollars from every entry directly to Breath4CF with the money raised helping to enhance the quality of life for those people living with CF.

‘You’re The Run That I Want’ shoe laces can be purchased from all Nike Platinum stores and “You’re The Run That I Want” training sessions at Platinum, Foot Locker and Shoe Science stores.
