The Tudor Consort's next 2004 season performance is on Saturday 30 October.

The choir is delighted to present one of Bach's six stunning Motets, plus romantic repertoire of Johannes Brahms, along with settings of the Lamentations by Tallis, Ferrabosco and Edward Bairstow:

Bach's gorgeous funeral motet Komm, Jesu, Komm is one of the most affecting works of the Lutheran repertoire and contains Bach's most beautiful writing for choir. Brahms' Drei Motetten is a set of three rich, romantic penetential motets for duoble choir; that composer's final, and most masterful, contribution to sacred vocal music. The heartfelt texts of Jeremiah's Lamentations fascinated the composers of the Renaissance and here we present five of the most beautiful settings, including masterful compositions by Thomas Tallis and Edward Bairstow, the affecting simplicty of plainsong, and the unparalled setting for Five Voices by Italian composer Alfonso Ferrabosco the Elder.

All sung by "Wellington's superb chamber choir" (The Dominion Post) in a candle-lit Wellington Cathedral. A stunning programme in a stunning venue; don't miss it.
