Internationally renowned guest teacher to visit NZ School of Dance

Kathryn Wade, former Director of English National Ballet School in London, will be in New Zealand from 28 Feb - 11 March teaching students from the New Zealand School of Dance. Kathryn Wade trained at the Royal Ballet School (London) and, having won the prestigious Adeline Genée Gold Medal, graduated to the Royal Ballet Company.

Kathryn danced many principal roles as a soloist with both London Festival Ballet (now English National Ballet) and The Royal Ballet. She was appointed to the ballet staff of The Royal Ballet School when she stopped dancing and became Ballet Administrator in 1988.

Kathryn has been a guest teacher in Australia, Canada, Italy, Mexico and New Zealand as well as an examiner at the Academie de Danse Classique Princess Grace de Monte Carlo. She has also been on the juries of the Prix de Lausanne and other international competitions in Luxembourg, Spoleto and Florence in Italy, St Pölten in Austria and the Concours International de Danse de Paris.

She is a member of the Executive and Artistic Committees of the Royal Academy of Dance.

Married to a New Zealander, Kathryn is looking forward to returning to New Zealand enormously.

A classical technique class taken by Ms Wade and a coaching class will be presented from 9.00am to 12.00pm on Friday 11 March. The media is invited to attend.
