Red Bull X Fighters Fill The World’s Largest Bull-Fighting Arena
New Zealand FMX rider Nick Franklin has headed off to Mexico City to take part in the Red Bull X-Fighters.
Nick recently recovered from his first major injury and in his first competition back at the Night of Jumps, IFMXF Round 2 in Vienna finished 6th in the qualifying round and 5th in the final. This will be the third time Nick has attended Red Bull X-Fighters.
This will be the first time ever Red Bull X-Fighters has been held in Mexico City. Over 350000 fans will be cheering on the motoreros in the world’s largest bull-fighting arena in the Monumental Plaza de Toros..
The Monumental Plaza de Toros in Mexico City will be full of raging fans on April 22, when for once something other than a bullfight will be shown. Instead of toros and toreros there will be motoreros marching into the arena. The world’s best motocrossers – Ronnie Renner, Mike Metzger, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg & Co. – are already stirring enthusiasm for FMX. The approx. 35,000 tickets of the Monumental Plaza de Toros, the bull-fighting arena seating the most people, are already sold out one week before the event.
Nick Franklin will l join the world’s best in FMX. In spite of his injuries, Edgar Torronteras, the winner of the X-Fighters 2002, will be sitting next to FMX-legend “Mad” Mike Jones in the jury. US-American Nate Adams, who ranked second in the X-Fighters 2004 in Madrid, will also be unable to participate but he will be one of the 40,000 fans in the arena. At the same time someone else is glad to have gotten a starting position. Together with Ailo Gaup and Kris Brock the Frenchman Manu Troux will represent the European FMX scene in the overseas premiere of the X-Fighters.
From April 22, 8 p.m., these FMX stars are going to bring the crowd in the arena to a boil.
