An exploding house is just the beginning of a thrilling chain of events, as New Zealand actors Temuera Morrison and Lisa Eilbacher stave off certain death in Maori Television’s Sunday Feature NEVER SAY DIE this Sunday June 5 at 9.00 PM.

In this Geoff Murphy-directed 1988 nostalgia flick, Morrison and Eilbacher fill the roles of investigative journalist Alf Winters and his beautiful girlfriend Melissa Jones who receive an exploding house as a welcome home gift after returning to New Zealand from overseas.

When the world of international business and political intrigue meet, no-one is safe. And, anyone who tries to thwart their plans will find themselves caught up in a deadly web of deception – and murder.

The explosion signals that Alf has stumbled across a secret that someone wants to remain hidden, and the focus of the film is to find out exactly what that secret is. Unable to convince Inspector Evans – the tough local cop played by Tony Barry – that someone is out to eliminate them, the pair is forced to solve the mystery themselves.

Murphy is a master of the suspense genre and this 1988 classic showcases his superb directorial skills that also enthralled audiences with other features such as Goodbye Pork Pie and The Quiet Earth. In NEVER SAY DIE, the makings for a good nail-biter prevail as the couple head for a remote island with a high-powered rifle-toting assassin at their heels.

Concluding with the essential car-chase and dramatic showdown, NEVER SAY DIE also provides a charming balance between thrills, spills and laughs right up to its (literally) explosive end.
