Let's Get Ready To Rumble! Sex Survey Begins...

The Durex Global Sex Survey is back online to expose Kiwis' sex lives.

So, when it comes to sex, how long is too long to go without? Are New Zealanders still taking risks? Is Daniel Carter still the country's sexiest celebrity?

New Zealanders have until the end of July to visit www.durex.com and participate in the 2005 Durex Global Sex Survey.

Last year more than 350,000 people from 41 countries shared their sexual secrets with the world, making it the biggest sex survey globally.

Kiwis' responses last year revealed unsafe sex had increased, with 57% admitting to having had unsafe sex (up 20% from 2003) -- giving New Zealand the third highest rate of unsafe sex in the world.

In 2004, respondents also reported on their favourite sexual experiences, and what and who turns them on. While only 30% of Kiwis said they orgasm every time, they were still getting in the sack more than most countries -- having sex on average 114 times per year, and beating the Aussies on 103 times.

Victoria Potter, Durex NZ Manager, says this year's Durex Global Sex Survey will reveal whether Kiwis are still taking risks unnecessarily, and whether they still hold the trans--Tasman title for having the most sex.

"Kiwis have always been eager participants in the Durex Global Sex Survey, and this year we really want to beat the Australians again," says Ms Potter. "On a more serious note, it will be interesting to see if Kiwis are practicing safer sex more than last year."

Competition is fierce between New Zealand and Australia in the frequency of sex stakes, and Durex Australia Manager, Carla McCarthy, says Australians are determined to win when it comes to how much sex they're having compared to Kiwis.

"Past years' results have shown that Aussies are into quality of sex rather than quantity, but we hope to take the lead on all counts this year," says Ms McCarthy. "After lagging behind on frequency of sex, Aussies want to prove they're among the world's keenest lovers, so Kiwis had better watch out!"

All Kiwi respondents who complete the survey will go in the draw to win a Sony 20GB Hard Drive Walkman. The first 500 respondents will receive a free sample of Durex Sensation condoms and Play Warming lubricant. Globally, there is an ultimate international holiday to South Africa that one lucky respondent will win.

The 2005 Durex Global sex Survey results will be released in November this year.
