Cardrona on Track for Friday Opening
Over 400 staff from all over the globe were finalising their training this week in preparation for Cardrona Alpine Resort’s opening day this Friday (24 June).
Staff from as far a field as Europe, North America and Japan as well as Australia and New Zealand got a taste of the cold early morning starts as they worked to ensure lifts, rental, cafe and ticketing are all running smoothly to welcome the season’s first clients.
Manager Andy Chapman said he was looking forward to getting his first season at Cardrona up and running.
“We’re on track for opening this Friday and are very excited about kicking off the 2005 season,” he said. “We’ve got a great team of people working very hard to make it an enjoyable season for everyone. Out on the slopes the snow groomers have been working hard moving snow around, packing and grooming the runs to create optimum snow conditions.”
All base lodge facilities will open on Friday with Macdougall’s Quad and the beginners area. Other lifts and runs available will be confirmed later in the week.
