DOWNLOAD THIS: Julie Hill meets the proud geeks who merrily download their favourite TV shows before they’re even a twinkle in the eye of local broadcasting programmers, and examines the threat this technology poses to programmers and advertisers.

AT THE RAINBOW’S END: Mayor Barry Curtis takes Jeremy Hansen on a tour of the new TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre. The long-awaited stadium space has just opened over the road from Rainbow’s End, and features an 800-seat theatre and artwork by Richard Shortland-Cooper. Playwright Makerita Urale offers a vintage work and a note of caution.

FALE AITU: Pacific theatre momma Justine Simei-Barton talks to Oliver Driver about the phenomenal growth of Pacific plays and where the new centre (see above) fits into this picture.

BELLA ITALIA: Josie McNaught returns with her second report from the 51st Venice Biennale. This time she focuses on the Germans, the rest of the world, the parties and the hangovers. Ex-pat cinematographer Jono Smith shot the pictures.

Best regards, The Frontseat Team TV One, Sunday Nights (repeated the following Sunday at 6.30am)
