Chief of CMNZ leaves on high note

Brian Budd, Chief Executive of Chamber Music New Zealand has resigned after 10 successful years leading one of New Zealand’s arts icons now in its 55th year. CMNZ was born from a group of people passionate about chamber music, intent on presenting the world’s finest chamber music to New Zealand.

2005 also marked the opening of CMNZ’s first Auckland office and the appointment of arts management specialist Maryanne Mummery as Development Manager. Maryanne’s role is to help develop new audiences
and revenue for CMNZ, and to run CMNZ’s first ever Auckland office.

Brian has thoroughly enjoyed his time at the organisation. “It’s been a pleasure and real joy to have lead Chamber Music New Zealand, an organisation which I feel very passionate about”, said Brian. “Chamber Music New Zealand represents a musical genre which is very close to my heart. The organisation provides New Zealanders with the world’s best chamber music ensembles, live on their doorstep.”

The Board of CMNZ is currently seeking a replacement for Brian who is leaving to take up the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club in Wellington.
