Cecily Guarrera Cecily is exhibiting tactile works, full of texture and layers that both conceal and reveal. The colours and shapes depicted are from the endless history of symbolism that gives visual form to “something that is us”. This work is for people who love to see the movement and texture of something created by hand- in contrast to computer-generated images.
Anne Marie Verbeek Anne Marie is a New Zealander born of Dutch immigrant parents nearly fifty years ago, and raised in the South Island. She is a country girl, a mother, an artist and a Christian. For the last 12 years she has lived in Wellington. Her artistic expression touches on all these factors; who she is, what she is and where she belongs.
Anne Marie has two main categories of paintings: in the first group the idea gets onto a surface ‘in one hit’ – more or less a painted drawing. The second group is the result of experimentation and layers. Some works have taken a period of years to complete.
