Kia ora , This week Amplifier managed to save on its weekly food bill by filling up on finger food at the Hayley Westenra Odyssey album launch at St Matthews Church in Auckland. We’ve also been fielding lots of calls from various press outlets about downloadable music in NZ. I wonder what’s got them stirred up? And speaking of downloadable music its great to see P-Money, one million dollars and Fat Freddy’s Drop getting recognition at the worlds biggest download store iTunes. This week amongst several very tasty selections check out the new one from ex-Stereo Bus member Dave Yetton and a rather sweaty video from Wellington’s OdESSA.

Dave Yetton 'Blow Out Your Candles' is the celebrated first solo release from Dave Yetton -- previously known for his work with the wonderful New Zealand bands, JPS Experience and The Stereo Bus. The songs were first recorded using an acoustic guitar onto a clunky old tape cassette, later, with Dale Cotton producing, the tracks were recorded at Platform Studio in mid 2004 and the album was then completed in Dave's home studio.
