OF SIR APIRANA NGATA Monday September 12 at 8.30 PM
One of
One of Maoridom's strongest embodiments of all things Maori,
Sir Apirana Ngata, is remembered in song this week on Maori
Television. This documentary takes place when a group of
elderly ex-students and descendents gather at Porourangi
Marae in Ruatoria to revive the songs of their
ancestor.

Few people know of British Columbia's forgotten leper
colony - D'Arcy Island - where between 1891 and 1924 a
handful of men and women were banished there to die in
solitude. Maori Television opens up a chapter in North
American history that refuses to be forgotten on this week's
international documentary.
SIBERA : THE JOURNEY NORTH :
PREMIERE Tuesday September 13 at 9.30 PM
The
finely-filmed, two-part documentary series tracing one of
the greatest nomadic journeys on Earth launches on Maori
Television. Join presenter Dermot Somers on a gruelling
1600-mile journey across the tundra to the Arctic
Ocean.
NGATI NRL - PREMIERE Thursday September 15 at 8.00

Maori Television is proud to announce the premiere of the second series of NGATI NRL. This is a 13-part series that delves behind the scenes and shows the real life stories of Maori and Pacific Island players in the thick of competition and chomping at the bit on the fringes of the toughest competition in the southern hemisphere - the Australian National Rugby League (NRL).
