NEW ZEALAND MOTOCROSS TEAM ANNOUNCED
Motorcycling New Zealand has announced a team of 18 to contest the Oceania Motocross Championship in Barrabool, Melbourne on the weekend of 12 & 13 November 2005.
After trouncing the Australians in 2002 and 2003, the New Zealand team expects a much tougher time in 2005. Noticeable absentees for New Zealand are the injured Darryll King and Daryl Hurley.
Josh Coppins fresh from his second placing in the World Motocross Championship, as well as the team placing of 4th in the Motocross of Nations, captains the New Zealand Team.
Coppins will come up against Chad Reed of Australia who now competes in the USA.
“In terms of team personnel New Zealand has an experienced team with 12 of the 18 riders having experienced previous Oceania Championships. The team also includes current domestic leader Cody Cooper (125cc) and Shayne King (250cc). Cooper has just returned from Europe with the NZ team that finished 4th in the Motocross of Nations.
