Coke New Releases - Fresh Music from the fridge

Flying’s the buzzword this week at Coke New Releases as Barnaby Weir and his flock of feathered friends swoop in for a quick chat and a sneak peak at the new Fly My Pretties release. Even Phil got into the groove, leaping from the Coke New Releases couch and flailing his arms wildly.

Turns out he’s more of a weka than a wood pigeon though, crashing to the ground and running away. We found him skulking in a freshwater swamp, stealing tasty morsels of entertainment snacks from the campers nearby. Snacks such as new videos from The Darkness, Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters and The Gorillaz.

Along with those goodies he found a band called Diefenbach and five copies of the brand new Beastie Boys album to giveaway as well as the busty Sony MHC-RG270 stereo.

Top of the Pops

TV Guide Best on the Box “Best Music Show”

It’s a boomer of a week on Top of the Pops and we’re all excited about the second Big Day Out announcement. Go Shihad, Blindspott, The Sneaks, and Kitsch! So many great kiwi bands, so little time!

Live on the show we have the very cute Goodnight Nurse boys. They’re polishing their guitars and doing stretches in preparation for Friday night’s taping. Not only do we get a performance of their top 40 hit “Our Song”, but they’ll be putting on a special concert afterwards for everyone down in the studio!
Joining them is a band we all love here at Top of the Pops, Gasoline Cowboy. They’ll be introducing themselves politely to you with the killer track “Heading for the Ground”.

And we have another new number one – 3 in as many weeks; we must be making up for having that amphibian there for so long!

Could I get a drum roll please… we will be playing a live performance of Green Day’s “Jesus of Suburbia” in its full 9 minute glory!!! Tell your friends, organise a party - this is something you will not want to miss! Not forgetting the ladies we’ve also got performances from The Pussycat Dolls and the Sugababes.

Don’t forget our sexy competitions. The Big Day Out Franz Ferdinand is still running if you haven’t entered yet what are you waiting for? Also this week we have the much coveted Foo Fighters tickets to giveaway: two to Wellington and one to Auckland. Holy heck! Coke Countdown

Sunday November 20th 10am - 12pm

You wouldn’t want to be in the top 10 at the moment as drastic changes continue for the fourth week in a row. Kanye West and Jamie Foxx complete their assault on the charts, while the Sugababes ride the elevator all the way up to number 5.

We hope Madonna’s not too superstitious as her new video busts in at number 13, showing surprising flexibility, while INXS and Charlotte Church both make their first appearances in the charts.

Plus we’ve got Kiwi Fresh clips from The Dukes (who will be supporting Kelly Clarkson), southern heroes Anaham, and your chance to win the gold selling ‘Pegasus’ from those wonderful folk in the Phoenix Foundation.
