Trans Tasman ISDE Warm Up

This Saturday the ISDE Event Director Sean Clarke is running an Enduro near Taupo as part of the build up to the ISDE taking place in November 2006.

The competition will be run in the area planned for days 3 and 5 of the Six Day.

The event has attracted a high calibre of riders from New Zealand and Australia who are all keen to get a taste of the ISDE terrain.

The riders include New Zealanders Darryll King, Shayne King, Damien King, Paul Whibley, and Chris Birch. Australian also has top representation with Jake Stapleton, Geoff Ballard and Jeff Braico all flying over to compete.

Stapleton is the World Enduro Championship Junior # 2 and will be looking to get used to the terrain and for a top result.

Ballard is a legend of the ISDE and is very keen to ride the 2006 version having missed out on the 2005 ISDE due to not being able to enter as an individual.

Shayne and Darryll King have one ISDE experience having competed in the 1998 ISDE held at Traraglon, Australia. Shayne and Darryll are likely to be members of the NZ Senior trophy team for the Taupo Six Day.

Key staff will also be attending the event to build their experience.

The New Zealand ISDE continues to build momentum so look out for the announcement of the Park Ferme venue and more news in February.
